How to choose the best photo for a custom line drawing
Choosing the best photo for your new bespoke line drawing can be a bit daunting, but the good news is, almost any photo can work!
When we set up this little business we thought people would be taking the photo after they had ordered, but most people are using photos they already have - either because they love the photo, they've already come to the end of their breastfeeding journey or given birth, or (especially with the family portraits) it's a gift.
Custom family portraits
Lots of photos work for this! Formal photos taken with everyone looking at the camera are perfect, but candid shots are also gorgeous. We particularly love photos with movement - kids being thrown up in the air or leaning in to give daddy a kiss are beautiful.
Pregnancy bump custom bespoke line drawings
We have a page which discusses some of the best poses for these beautiful shots, but we know lots of people are no longer pregnant when they come across us. We also know from personal experience many of your photos of your bump are selfies with the phone in the mirror - we can make this work! If you can get a shot without your hand holding a phone thats ace, but we recently did a shot for a gorgeous Mum who had sadly lost her baby and only had photos with her phone - we gave her the option of us removing the phone or keeping it, and she chose to keep it. Send us a message and we can see what we can do!
Bespoke breastfeeding drawings
We know this can be harder if your journey has finished, but if you're still feeding get someone to take a shot for you. But most of the drawings we have done are ones taken without ever planning for a drawing, and they all turn out beautifully. We can if needed merge a couple of shots together - I really like photos where Mum is looking down at the babes, but of course you can be looking wherever you like.
If you want to send us a couple to choose from, we’re always happy to help.
This print of Anna was from a photo taken at 4am after hours of crying from her 10 month old, her hair was a mess and finalllllly the boob settled him - it was certainly not a styled photo but it turned out perfectly for a bespoke breastfeeding line drawing!
